    Aboard The Providence

Introduces herself as Jaana the warrior.

Is pretty confident as expected for someone that’s twice the size of a normal person, but pales in comparison to Knut.

During daytime Knut is teaching her how to fight with axe, sword and shield.

Is trying to learn card games during the evening but is absolutely terrible with any games that require bluffing, a fact that Knut often makes fun of.

You’ve never seen her win a training fight against Knut.

She and Knut are training for an invite-only tournament in Eigo.

    In Jinhou

Showed a paper to the harbor officials in Jinhou during the contact information collection procedure and told that Knut was with her, after which she and Knut were let through without going through normal procedure.

Daughter of Jarl Ulfrik Grunvald, therefore technically a princess of Jotunheim, although people there don’t use that word and she holds no royal authority.

One of two inheritors of the throne, the other one being his brother Johan.

Was hosting Kaneko, Asakura and Kuroda in Jotunheim during Kaneko’s diplomatic mission there.

Asked by Kaneko to participate in the tournament and win, to throw a wrench in the plans of some kind of dangerous conspiracy that would throw the nation of Eigo in chaos.

Realized that she had a voidtouched power 20 years ago when she and her brother were attacked by a bear in a forest Says she’s in control of the power, but chooses not to use it, because:

    • It creates more problems than it solves
    • It doesn’t make her a better fighter
    • She and Knut believe that the power is a “temptation” by Versa. Using it comes with a cost of losing oneself and slowly turning into a monster

Persuades the party to join her and Knut for the tournament.

Even though she has no royal authority, Knut follows her as her bodyguard due to the jarl’s orders.

Somewhat taken in by She’Medah and Zophiel’s “message of salvation” and the possibility to cure her voidtouched curse, but ultimately thinks its too good to be true.

Gets visibly nervous after hearing that she, as the captain of the tournament team, may participate in the altered eclipse ritual (if the party wins the tournament).

After the trial of unity, was able to unsheathe and wield Jinhou’s great katana at Onmyoji’s request, proving that she carried Jinhou’s blessing.

    33 years old.

According to Knut, she attacked her brother Johan 20 years ago when the two got lost in a forest during a snowstorm. She became voidtouched and ate her brother’s arm while shapeshifted. It’s unknown if the bear that was found torn apart on the scene threatened the siblings first, or was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Tricked into executing Kaneko with Jinhou’s great katana during the eclipse ritual in the Walled Garden. Experiences a mental breakdown that results in her transforming into a griffin. However, this turn of events also allows the party to escape Jinhou.

    Aboard SS Chosen

    Jaana in her griffin form.

After her transformation, she seems to just want to lie down and die. With some persuasion by Knut and the party, she joins the fight against Sekigahara’s guards before taking flight and carrying the party over the

    walls of the Walled Garden.

Carries the party over the sea towards west until she makes an emergency landing on a Chevellan steamship, SS Chosen, while unconscious.

While in her griffin form, Arista feeds her a potion which seems to accelerate her recovery.

Wakes up the next day, but is acting weird, as if she’s afraid of the party.

While she’s with captain Oscar Sullivan and First Mate Shelley McLennan, she testifies against the party, accusing them of conspiring with the cult that led to Jinhou’s downfall and kidnapping her. This leads to the party’s arrest.

Has taken an extreme liking to sugar for some reason, and throws a tantrum when she discovers that the ship’s supply has run out.

Eve believes Jaana is gathering allies from among the voidtouched passengers on the ship for some nefarious purpose.

Disappeared around the time the ship arrived to Caelumnis.

According to Lucia, her mind has been taken over by a strong monster, who has now fled the area, taking Jaana’s body with them.

According to Joachim, the monster is strong enough to hide Jaana’s location.

    According to captain Oscar Sullivan:

    • she seemed to want the arrest situation to escalate into violence
    • she may have tried to rile the passengers up to harm the party
    • she spent a lot of time with a group of 5 voidtouched Eigan people
    • she consumed large quantities of sugar and was furious when all the ship’s sugar was thrown out by Eve and when Zophiel prevented her from obtaining sugar via magical means
    • she disappeared just before the ship arrived to Caelumnis, possibly with the 5 other voidtouched Eigan people

According to Void, she was supposed to become the vessel for a piece of Mother/Versa in the Walled Garden.

    In Jotunheim

During the time the party goes missing for 6 months, Jaana returns to Jotunheim and becomes jarl. Her brother Johan attempts a coup, but fails.

According to the news, Jaana in her new position of jarl orders voidtouched Jotuni citizens to be corralled into the capital Valdalr.
