The “living deity” and spiritual leader of Lux Sanctus and a central figure in its new religion of New Ardianism.
Can allegedly cure voidtouched people of their curse.
Saint Lucia was discovered as a young child and as the only survivor from a monster attack on a rural Luxan town. The soldiers who had come to investigate found her buried in the rubble of a collapsed building, as if Ardia himself had spared this child from death. The child claimed she had lost her memory and that she could hear "the voice of God". The soldiers naturally thought that she had lost her mind and brought her to a church, where her miraculous abilities were soon discovered; this child was capable of performing miracles, despite not being voidtouched.
This was the beginning of her long journey to becoming the spiritual leader of Lux Sanctus. She had to endure years of mocking and ridicule, even physical abuse and assassination attempts, before she was finally accepted by the masses. Her success was ultimately thanks to her miracles; they left no room for doubt in the hearts of anyone who witnessed them.
When the saint had gathered a critical mass of followers, first among the local clergy and then among the common folk, she was granted audience with emperor Aldis. The details of this meeting will forever remain secret, but its end result was clear: Lux Sanctus ended its long era of isolation and entered the world stage once more, with a singular goal: to save humanity.
Saint Lucia's revelation, as conveyed to her by Father Ardia himself, was that voidtouched magic was a weapon wielded by Versa to destroy humanity. For mankind to find true salvation, this curse of voidtouch must be lifted.
Both the saint and the emperor share the goal of removing the curse of voidtouch from the world. However, the two come from two very different worlds. The saint is a blessed messenger of Ardia himself, and she has lived most of her life among the clergy, while emperor Aldis is a mortal man who needs to face the grim realities of leading an empire every day. Thus, the emperor has deemed it fit to authorize the use of military force to help achieve this sacred mission, even if it were to go against the personal wishes of the saint. After all, the saint's revelation only tells what must be achieved, it does not reveal how it must be achieved.
"The emperor will dirty his hands so that the saint may keep hers clean." is a sentence often heard repeated among the ruling elite of Lux Sanctus.
The empire of Lux Sanctus now finds itself in a peculiar internal conflict, where both the emperor and the spiritual leader of the nation agree on the end goal, but disagree over the methods used to achieve it.
In Caelumnis
Welcomes the party to castle Caelumnis after Joachim teleports the party to its courtyard.
Explains to the people gathered in the courtyard that the party tried and failed to stop the cult in Eigo from destroying Jinhou, but they succeeded in stopping the summoning of a calamity, saving millions of Eigan lives.
According to her, Jaana accused the party of being cultists because she has been taken over by a powerful monster. The monster has now fled, taking Jaana’s body with them.
Calls the party “Chosen ones”. According to her, the party’s safety is paramount, for if they perish, everyone else would soon follow.
Appoints Joachim to safeguard the party during their stay in the castle.
Meets with the party and urges them to travel to the underground ruins to retrieve a blessed artifact that allows the mark of sacrifice to be lifted.
Is stabbed by Shtah and seemingly dies.
Joachim revives her with a strange power and she awakens with just enough strength to make the barrier reappear and to ask if Shtah is alright. She then loses consciousness again.
According to Void, her apparent death served some purpose.
Some time after the events in Caelumnis
Proposes for a global peace summit to be held on neutral ground in Cen to cease hostilities around the world and unite humanity against their common enemy.
