Magic and Physics

• Magic breaks the laws of physics
  • This makes magic seem like it doesn't belong in this world, but instead originates from an outsider world with its own laws
  • Some researchers call magic "higher-dimensional force"

Voidtouched

• Magic can only be used by some people, i.e. voidtouched
  • Researchers have not been able to find anything physically different in a voidtouched person compared to a non-voidtouched person
  • The leading theory states that voidtouched have become connected to the outsider world via a higher dimension

Limits of using magic

• Using magic takes its toll on the mind, causing mental fatigue
  • Some people can only use magic spells a certain number of times before they need to rest
    • A sleep that's sufficiently long refreshes the mind, allowing the use of these spells again
  • Some people can use magic spells without limit
    • There are competing theories why this is:
      • There are actually different ways of casting magic, with one of them causing significantly mental fatigue
      • There are different categories of magic spells, with one of them causing significantly less mental fatigue
